(1) I watched a video today of a laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy. Good thing I didn't watch that shit before I had the surgery. Gross and scary - mostly scary. (2) Took my first solo walk today - second this afternoon. Feel like I'm over that low-blood-sugar-passing-out-stage. *fingers crossed* (3) Today is the first where the scale didn't go down overnight. I think that means it is officially time to stop weighing myself daily. I never intended to get wrapped up in the number on the scale - it was just so satisfying watching it plummet so quickly over the past week and a half, like all the pain meant something.

(1) What the scale says and what I see in the mirror don't quite match yet (I can't see the loss), so I measured myself this morning. I've lost 3/4" in each ankle, 1" in each calf and 3" on my waist since the surgery. (2) Last week was a treasure, resting and recuperating. I was going to try to work part time, but couldn't and I'm glad. I see the surgeon again on Wednesday when I suspect he will clear me to return to work. (3) Walked for 45 mins briskly this morning with Bryan and I can finally do so again without getting winded. Woot!
(1) Went shopping w/Bryan all day. I was exhausted and sore after 4 hours of walking. This does not bode well for the malls of the world - at least temporarily. (2) After shopping, saw Insurgent which was insufferable, but there were recliners... comfy, sent from Heaven recliners. (3) When you have to eat every two hours, you have to prepare ahead when going out for the day. I need a cooler lunch box since it's going everywhere with me now. (4) Steri-strips finally fell off my largest scar this morning. Looks like my swimsuit modeling days are over. (Really, it's not *that* bad). (5) Checked out the new Field and Stream in Troy. The clientele in the guns & ammo dept made me afraid for our future.
Tiny Tummy Dispatch, day 9: (1) My stomach is starting to wake up and move again and it feels weird as shit when it does. It's not exactly where it used to be since half of it is gone and it has six rows of staples sealing it which, I swear, makes it feel heavy to me. So flippin' bizarre to be able to feel your guts. (2) Today was day 1 of pureed foods. I had 4 oz. of mashed cottage cheese for breakfast and 3/4 C. of pureed beans/cheese/chili for dinner. Both felt like whole, un-chewed, pieces of meat going down my stomach. But sweet baby jeebus, it wasn't a protein shake so it was GOOD. (3) Spent 4 hours at the salon getting my eyebrows tattooed today which, until the numbing gel kicked in, hurt 1000x more times than surgery. Just figured I'd get ALL THE PAIN out of the way this month.
(1) Overdid it tidying the house which is actually a no-no for three more weeks and tonight I know why... ow! (2) My taste buds are whacked - red sugar free popsicles taste like mayonnaise. (3) My diet has been water, sugar free popsicles, protein shakes and blended/strained soup for a week. Tomorrow I start pureed foods and I can't wait to dig into some refried beans, cottage cheese and babagannoush! (4) Bryan Adams, who did not lose half a stomach, has lost more weight than me because this surgery has changed both our food habits. Apparently we used to eat a ton just to be social.
